Count Them. Receive Them. … … To What End?
What do you actually do with a blessing? Is a Blessing like winning the lottery? We pray and lay out our needs/wants like a child’s list to Santa. An “answered prayer” (one that meets our qualifications :/) gets an enthusiastic “Amen!” and then on to the next and the next waiting on our spiritual dopamine hit noticing little except the hills and valleys. But is that it? Is that the formula that God instilled – giving us our fickle, ever-changing heart’s desire over and over? Or is there more than our limited, narrow-focused outcomes, that is sustaining, that stays and builds and grows and produces satisfaction and gratitude. A Blessing received opens us up to a new and emerging reality, better eyesight if you will, seeing what was always there, but now the experience cements in us a strength of conviction, a knowing, from theory to practice to realization. It’s never about “the thing”. “The Thing” is just a tool that deepens relationship. A Blessing, to be of any value, leads to Service. Service leads to Purpose. And Purpose is the root of Happiness. Interesting that in order to experience a blessing in a lasting, meaningful way, it must be acknowledged – Count Them; it must be felt – Receive Them, and then it must leave, sent on it’s way and shared producing a rippling effect. We are created to relate to each other through our Blessings, through our Sufferings, through our Humanity.
What do you actually do with a blessing? Live It To The Fullest.
Connecting to another soul and reconnecting to our Creator … That IS the Blessing.
