HUH? 🤔

Intentional Living

Response versus Reaction … Action for action’s sake is a reaction to someone else’s prompting or your own insecurities. Stepping out into action even in the midst of not knowing every move forward is a response; there is a decision being made. Rest, Doing Nothing is sometimes the way to go. All roads go back to The Run for me. It taught so many lessons and this is one of them. I was just coming off of an intense training period, continuing the schedule which before had served me well. The structure, the routine, it fed my needs.

But here it is … our needs change.

I found myself longing for rest, of my physical body as well as my mind, not wanting to calculate every aspect in the day … eating, sleeping, etc., around the run. When I started running I was scared to stop, thinking I would fall back to bad habits. But this time was different. This time I knew, I had learned that the power wasn’t in the run. The power, my power, was in the decision, my decision to do what I decided to do. The power was in My Choice. There’s not one solitary answer and once you find it you can stop your quest. There’s only learning … for the rest of your life.

How delightful 🙂

Everyday. Learning. Exhausting and invigorating at the same time, but as you say, “ the power is in my choice” always love your insight! Your writing inspires me to reflect inward.
