“Today Me will live in the moment unless it’s unpleasant in which case Me will eat a cookie.” (Cookie Monster)

Not the worst response, actually. Sometimes it’s helpful to seek out and receive satisfaction in the form of edible deliciousness. The thing is … now here’s the thing … the thing is, there is no set equation for living life, experiencing moments and processing decisions, choices. That is what all of life is … reaching, growing, taking chances, risk & reward. We seem to want, think we want to just know what to do … tell me what to do and I’ll do it … I don’t care how hard it is … I just want to be told … this is kind, this is good, this is beneficial, this is right … and I’ll do it. Don’t make me think. I have no interest in participating in my life. I just want to be a good person, for you to think I’m a good person, to be recognized as a good person.

You may want to rethink that strategy. Just tweak it a little bit. You are a good person. You have a purpose. And you are not perfect. Own it. Own all of that. And do what you know in this moment … And … Enjoy.

Two steps forward, one step back … It’s the dance of life.

I love this (and not just because of the Cookie Monster quote!). Totally agree with this that this “dance of life” is both messy and miraculous, and all is to be embraced.
